10 Transformers drabbles [Music Meme; G-PG; slight slash]
Taking a break from the sentence meme as well as my novel, I decided to give this meme a shot. I had started it some time ago with a different playlist, but after failed attempts, shitty results and just time passing without doing the majority of it, I decided to try again with a new list. AND I MANAGED TO DO IT, YEAH!
Put your entire music collection on shuffle, hit play, and write. Write for as long as each song plays and move on to a different writing when the song switches (even if it's mid-sentence). Go for ten songs (or five). If nothing comes, it still counts. If you're listening to a comedian, you can skip it.
Shit was difficult. Anyway! They're all Transformers (surprise!) drabbles. Most of them are based on the 2007 movie. I seem to have grown a soft spot for that universe. WARNING: slash alert!
I took the liberty of skipping artists I got double or more. Otherwise half of this list would be Britney Spears haaar. 9u6 I also added a liiiittle bit of the final sentences when the song was over as well as grammar/spell checked it (fff leave me alone.) BUT NOT MUCH! As you can tell, it was a bit challenging, and some things may seem OOC or just... weird. (I'm not too fond of the first one, honestly.) BLAME TIME CONSTRAINTS! But each drabble is somehow connected to their respective songs in one form or another. Music is included, taking you to either IMEEM or YouTube.
ANYWAY ENJOY!
Sweet Escape - Gwen Stefani feat. Akon
(07!Ironhide; hints at Ironhide/Ratchet)
He didn't know just how long he had been driving for. Perhaps a cycle, perhaps less. All he knew that, at that time, he really needed to get out. Away, really, which suited the situation better.
Driving down this desolate stretch of road out in the hot desert, Ironhide felt at peace. In fact, for some reason, he felt a type of... connection with the desert. Hot, cruel, vast and powerful; yeah, that seemed to match. And somehow, this made him a little upset.
Only with this extra hurt did he press down the excelerator and shoot down the road, going at a speed much too dangerous and law-forbidding. But he didn't care. As long as he got away, for just one day, escape the troubles that had been polluting his mind. He was not the type to run, let alone from a problem; a warrior, he fought, ran gallantly and happily into battle.
But he wasn't running from his destiny, from what, who he was. It had nothing to do with the war, with killing, with anything related. He never felt guilt before, but when he saw the hurt he put on Ratchet's face, it proved too much to handle.
(You Drive Me) Crazy (Stop Remix) - Britney Spears
(G1 Inferno/Red Alert)
Red Alert wondered why his CPU hadn't completely crashed by now. His companions, in fact, had been placing bets on when his mind finally overloaded and lost it. However, they had to remember the security officer was a soldier, and despite everything, he still did retain some control over his glitching episodes. How else would he be placed as head security officer? Red Alert certainly had what it took and his problems didn't hold him as far back as others anticipated.
However, when it came to Inferno... It felt as if Red Alert was losing control little by little. Inferno just--he had a way to both comfort and drive Red absolutely crazy. He was more bias with the fire truck; either he was more soft or much too harsh. And Inferno took it--took all of Red Alert's episodes, all his glitching, all his paranoia--he accepted every bit of it. And when Red confronted him, a stammering mess of confused circuitry, asking him why, Inferno grinned and replied with a snigger: "I jus' think it's cute. It's who ya are, Red."
And Red, his horns brightening, had never been more flattered on such a crazy topic.
Points of Authority - Linkin Park
(G1 Megatron and Starscream)
Starscream grunted as he was flung back with a harsh push, his back hitting the wall with a painful thud. The tip of his left wing bent inward, causing him to release a soft whimper. Megatron, lowering his hand from initating the blow, smirked at the tiny noise. "Such noises are unsuitable for a Decepticon leader," he crooned, taunting, "you might as well just give up. You will never take my place."
Starscream ground his teeth, slowly crawling back to his feet. "Unlike you, I don't quit," he fumed before raising his null ray. Just as he was going to shoot the silver mech, Megatron fired back with his gun. It hit the Seeker's arm, knocking it right off. Starscream gasped, alarmed and hurt, but still he did not run. No, not this time. He wouldn't run this time.
"I'm getting tired of your games, Starscream," Megatron growled, aiming his cannon towards Starscream's face.
Starscream swallowed, but stood his ground. "I will never stop," he hissed, "until I tear you down and make you kneel before me."
Megatron laughed. "You're quite a ridiculous sight," he snorted. "I'll show you authority as the Decepticon leader." And with that, he shot his cannon, Starscream terrified but standing.
Storm (TM Mix) - Yoshida Brothers
(07!Ironhide, Ratchet, Barricade)
This specific battle would start out slow, simple. Ironhide and Ratchet had just been enjoying their time off, sitting outside the town lake. It was raining, and the surface of the water was dotted, dancing and shimmering. It was quiet except for the storm above, rumbling thunder only on rare occasion. The two Autobots were situated under a tree, shielded by its massive canopy.
Just as Ratchet went to comment on the unique smell of the rain, the tree was struck by a powerful ray of light, cracking instantly in half. The two comrades moved out of the way of landing, the tree falling to a sizzling mess onto the wet ground. Ironhide and Ratchet snapped their attention to the approaching Decepticon. Barricade, still nursing wounds from a battle that happened nearly three weeks ago, approached them. The barrel of his gun billowed lines of smoke.
"I thought we'd just get a slagging break," Ironhide growled, activating his cannons, "and now we gotta deal with this punk. Why couldn't you just stay in hiding?"
Barricade narrowed his optics. "You will die here, Autobots!" he shrieked, hoisting his weapons. "In memory of Megatron!" he shouted and shot a blast at them.
Ratchet had picked up the fallen tree, using it as a shield. When the blast hit it instead of him, he went tumbling backwards. However, he was back to his feet seconds later, watching as Ironhide had Barricade locked, hand in hand. Ratchet took out his buzzsaw and ran to help his friend, the rain hissing along with his weapon as it stormed down on their chassis, their bodies glowing in the heat of the battle.
Haunted (Chris Vrenna Remix) - Poe
(07!Prime, Megatron)
Every time he went into recharge, he saw his face. The face he wore just as he died; twisted in shock, pain and worst of all for the Decepticon leader, knowledge of defeat. Optimus's optics whirred to life instantly and he slowly sat up from his berth. His face fell into his hands and he sighed. It had been nearly a month since Megatron was killed, but still his presence lingered in his dreams. So fierce, so violent, just as if he were still alive to this day.
Optimus rose his head and peered out the window of their new Earth-born base. The stars above twinkled in the clear black skies. Up there, past the stars, past millions of miles of empty space, was their home. Cybertron. Now nearly void of life, torn apart by war and carnage. All brought upon by Megatron and his lust for power. One display of his cruelty, ripping out the spark of their father and--
Prime scowled. That had always struck a nerve, always been there as a painful reminder that his beloved brother was no longer alive. He had died much earlier than Megatron himself entirely. And remembering they were brothers, remembering the old times of peace and happiness, of growing together and looking to one another for help and guidance, Megatron might as well be ripping out Prime's own spark.
The great warlord was sleeping in his mind. He would never die. He was too powerful. Prime knew, he knew that Megatron still had a clutch on the minds of his own companions. Would there be no escape from him, even after his own death?
Prime could only hope.
(A/N: I couldn't find the Chris Vrenna remix, so the link takes you to the original song. Also, I-eeee don't know if TFs canonically dream buuut in this fic they do. 9u6)
Sandstorm (original mix) - Da Rude
(07 AU Jazz, Bumblebee)
"Now this is a party!"
Jazz cackled as he and Bumblebee loomed outside a local club. The rave was being held outside of town, and all the dancers were too busy dancing, too busy having a good time to notice the Autobots peering at them from the open ceiling above. They hid themselves well, and all the flashing, brilliant lights bathing the run down stadium helped to conceal them.
Jazz couldn't help but swing left and right a little. "These humans may be primitive," he laughed, "but they sure do know how to have a good time!"
Bumblebee looked to him. "You must be feeling right at home," he chuckled.
"Ain't home, but it's slagging good enough!" the smaller Autobot replied, continuing to rock with the beat. "I could get used to this place, y'know!" he said.
"The audio systems are a bit too much on my receptors," Bumblebee replied, touching the side of his head, "but the beat is indeed quite good. Sam has similar tastes, though he leans more towards a genre he calls 'rock.' I do not know why a form of music would be associated with a product of nature, but there are still many things we have to learn about their culture."
Jazz waved his hands a little in the air. "I'm all for a crash course!" he sniggered. He then reached out to 'Bee, taking a hold of his wrist. Bumblebee's wings hitched in surprise before Jazz pulled him into some erratic rendition of a human waltz. It was more upbeat, chaotic, full of jumps and turns. "Move that aft of yours, 'Bee! It's no fun doin' this by myself!"
Bumblebee chuckled, embarrassed. "I'm afraid I'll never be as... flexible as you appear to be," he retorted, watching in awe as Jazz began to go into break dancing. He then shrugged as Jazz pointed to him and began to dance. Slowly, a bit pathetically, before the groove of the music finally hit him.
As Jazz and Bumblebee rocked out to the dance song, Bumblebee temporarily forgot about the war, about Cybertron. Right now all he focused on was the rapid energy coursing through his circuitry. Earth, for all its faults and simplicity, was turning out to be an exciting, surprising little back water planet.
And as the music quieted, trailed off into silence, they stopped and laughed, throwing their arms over each others shoulders. Ah, it was good to finally remember what "fun" is.
Citizen of the Planet - Alanis Morissette
(07!Prime, Ironhide, Ratchet, Arcee)
At first, their presence wasn't welcomed. More so, it was their war they had brought upon Earth that kept them alienated. But over time, when the Autobots proved to be beneficial to humanity, and peaceful beings, humanity slowly let go of their grudge. They began to accept their company, despite the bitter memories of all the chaos they had wrought some time ago.
The Autobots traveled throughout the world, however. Many were surprised, many shocked, scared, angry, intrigued and curious. They left Nevada, moved throughout the States; they met new people, saw, smelt, felt and heard new things. Bumblebee had stayed behind with Sam, however. Their search for companions, search for the renegade Decepticons kept them trekking forward.
Prime had meditated in the middle of a field in Ireland, surrounded by the old ruins of a civilization long since dead. Ratchet had taken up doing some minor repairs to his leg beside a cathedral in Italy. Ironhide had opened fire out of frustration on a scorched part of Earth in the Gobe desert. Alas, they met more Decepticons than they had Autobots. Arcee had joined some time ago and now, disguised in her motorcycle mode, she was parked inconspicuously beside a little French cafe.
The Autobots were giants, gods amongst men, and now they left their heaven and joined the citizens of this planet as equals.
Aidan - Hans Zimmer (From The Ring soundtrack)
(07!Ratchet, Ironhide)
Ratchet had never known such sadness as he did watching Ironhide die. He was helpless, and nothing he could do could bring him back. And in that instant, a rage so incredible washed through the medic. He would exact revenge, quiet, soft as he was.
Heat Island - RHYMESTER feat. Fire Ball
(07!Ironhide, Ratchet, Prowl, Arcee, Prime, Bumblebee)
"It's like they all just suddenly jumped right out of the slagging Pit!"
Ironhide moved aside before he could get hit from a blast of a Decepticon's null ray. Ratchet knelt beside Prowl, examining his knee; they were sheltered behind the remains of once an icon of a building in Iacon. "This is one of the worst ambushes we've gone through so far," the medic grumbled.
Prowl winced when Ratchet took the drill to his wound. "I predicted such," he grunted, "95.7%. Given we were forced to camp out in this wreckage. We were open targets. In a way, we should have expected it."
Jazz cut through a Decepticon attempting to sneak on the two. "A fight in a ghost town," he chuckled, "sounds kinda morbid. Like a final stand, y'know?"
"Don't talk that way," Arcee scowled. She shot a laser at Starscream. "I don't want to die along with this city."
"A great city," Ratchet sighed, "brought to shambles."
"Our deaths here would be just as tragic," Ironhide growled. He threw aside the head of a Decepticon he had just scuffled with. "I'm not one for tragedies either."
"It doesn't matter if we die here or if we survive," Prime said, suddenly appearing behind the group. His sword was out, dripping with the energon of his enemies. "We can't let this city's old reputation be tarnished any longer."
Bumblebee smirked. "Then let's get rid of the demons," he said.
Urgent - Foreigner
(G1 Sunstreaker/Bluestreak)
"Are you sure you wanna do this?"
"If I didn't, I wouldn't be pinning you to the berth, now would I?"
Bluestreak swallowed, shaking a little. Sunstreaker was looming over him, holding the Datsun down to the metal bed by his wrists. The yellow Lambo grinned, crooked like so many other parts of his personality. "Don't tell me you're gonna chicken out?" he taunted.
Bluestreak widened his optics. "I'm not gonna chicken out, I'm not a coward like that; I wouldn't let you hold me down like this if I was. So so yeah, I--I'm not gonna just run away after all--" he stammered.
Sunny pressed a finger to his lip components. "The only noise I wanna hear from you for the next cycle are your pretty little cries," he chuckled. Bluestreak would turn red in the face if he were capable of doing so. Sunstreaker pulled back his finger and lowered his face inches above Blue's. "Besides, we don't get to do this often. We ain't got nobody, so we can't have it whenever we like," he explained.
"I find it hard to believe you don't have a mate all ready," Bluestreak murmured.
"None of the guys here fit my tastes," Sunstreaker answered with a snicker. He struck his glossa against the crest on Blue's helm. The Datsun promptly shivered. "But you're cute. I can spare some time to have a little fun with you," he purred.
"We-we're only doing this out of boredom anyway," Bluestreak muttered, disappointed.
"Aw, don't be like that," Sunny laughed and dove down on his prey.
Hope you enjoyed, dear readers!
